About us
littleHive was established by former colleagues with a shared commitment to prioritizing the customer's experience in their digital work, pairing it with a clean creative style and technically excellent execution.
We keep each client's business requirements and goals at the center of our process, to ensure that each project's strategy is in line with the objectives for the product that is to be built.
littleHive's first two collaborators, Jonathan Hunt and Sandy Schneible, met while working at AltaVista, a leader in Internet Search prior to the emergence of Google's search service.
AltaVista and Yahoo! were market leaders for many years—AltaVista dominated Internet Search and built Shopping and News services and offered consumers mail, mapping, news and translation services (Babel Fish!) while Yahoo was regarded as the Directory leader, and specialty content leader in topical verticals like Finance (Yahoo Finance)—a reputation it retains to this day. Yahoo ultimately acquired AltaVista and wrapped its offerings into their brand and platform.
Sandy and Jonathan moved on from AltaVista to work individually in the United States and the United Kingdom in other organizations.
In the years that followed, they held roles in product management, marketing, creative and development teams and management positions and they gained experience working with a number of independent agencies.
littleHive was created in 2009, enabling them to align their efforts again, this time through a marketing and creative agency focused on digital products.
Sandy
President
Prior to establishing littleHive, Sandy Schneible served Washington Mutual, a national bank based in Seattle, WA (VP, eCommerce Marketing for wamu.com), whose entrepreneurial eCommerce team pioneered advances in mobile and web banking like opening a checking account without visiting a branch, and depositing checks from a mobile phone.
Before joining WaMu, Schneible worked in a number of Product Management and Marketing roles in software, consulting and Internet firms – among them Internet search technology pioneer AltaVista. At its peak, AltaVista Shopping served over 8.5M unique visitors, and generated more than 2.5M page views per day. She also worked with the Search team on their international platform, designed to serve the worldwide community with in-language support. In prior roles, she has tackled pricing strategy, software distribution, direct marketing, event planning and trade show management, packaging, collateral and other aspects of product marketing.
Jonathan
Lead: Design & Development
Jonathan Hunt brings littleHive more than a strong working knowledge of technology—he builds it. In Jonathan, littleHive has a hybrid that is not-so-easy to find; one might call him a designer-developer.
He, like Sandy, is highly focused on the needs and experience of the customer. Jonathan’s broad experience and skills allow him to carry and carry out work that begins with design and user experience and runs the span all the way to front-end web programming, including responsive design and testing through back-end development (think PHP, SQL and the like).
He has experience with myriad PHP frameworks, Content Management Systems and platforms, interactive/animated HTML and more—and he doesn’t mind print work either.
Together, Jonathan and Sandy are the standard-shapers for littleHive and the work of the other specialists that comprise the team.
